Can you believe it’s been 10 years since Something Vintage launched?! To think it all started in Dawn’s basement back in 2012… Fast forward 10 years and we have SIX warehouses, 70+ employees, and have delivered to over 3,600 events. Whew! Throw in some incredible personal milestones (fun fact- Dawn & Zach got married at our very first warehouse!) and you’ve got just a glimpse of the joy, challenges, and phenomenal events we’ve experienced in the past decade.
Undoubtedly, so much of Something Vintage’s success is due to our incredible team of employees. They believe in SVR’s mission and help make this company one that our clients can trust and believe in too. This group of people lives out our mission to make the world a brighter, more joyful place every day. Without their dedication and hard work, we wouldn’t be where we are today. To commemorate 10 years of SVR, we threw the biggest, boldest bash and celebrated alongside the entire SVR Fam!
It’s our party and we’ll shine if we want to! Obviously, we wanted alllll the color, so finding a way to incorporate our Starburst Lime Green Bar was a no-brainer! (Did you know we offer custom-painted bars? If lime isn’t your jam—no judgement—you can have our Picasso Bar painted in the color of your choosing!) We topped the Starburst with an assortment of our handmade china in shades of pink, yellow, and blue. The finishing touch? Sophie Felts created the *~*floral arrangement of our dreams*~* to top it all off.
Above all, this night was about a fun, relaxed vibe. In order to achieve this, we opted to stay away from formal place settings. Instead, we set up a mix of round and rectangular tables! We embraced the checkered trend and set up a combo of our Yards & Ballston tables. In addition, we set up our brand-new Hill & Old Town round slatted tables! We chose to keep seating consistent throughout. For this reason, we paired all of the tables with our Jae Clear Lucite Masters Chairs. To finish things off, we used a mixture of bud vases, glassware, and disco balls to create color-blocked centerpieces.
They say 10 years is the tin or aluminum anniversary… in our world that obvi translates to disco balls & tinsel! In true SVR fashion, we designed two new backdrops for the occasion: a disco mirror panel and a wiggle backdrop. These new panels were paired with a couple of our crinkle iridescent panels. To tie it all together, we added a hot pink neon sign to create a super fun photo booth backdrop. We wanted an Instagrammable spot to take photos, but we also wanted a cozy space for peeps to lounge. To achieve this goal, we set up some of our favorite, most on-brand pieces. Our Mercury Sofa was the centerpiece of the seating area. To top things off, we brought in our Cher Pink & White Checkered Rug and Bronx Phone Booth.
To really take things to the next level, we turned to the incredible team at Sophie Felts! Sophie’s team came in and decked out the panels with the most vibrant dried floral arrangements. They even dressed up our disco ball chandelier and brand-new Casper Standing Light Hanger! We are SO in awe of their talent. Working with them is always a treat and we’re beyond grateful they helped us celebrate 10 years in style!
We wanted to showcase a white bar so the vibrant color of our Verde Glassware could really shine! Ultimately, we chose our Matilde Curved Bar. The slatted design is so chic and accented the ribbed design of the Verde perfectly. Instead of a bar back, we tied everything together by setting up the Matilde in front of our china display. The perks of throwing a party in the SVR Showroom? Built-in bar backs!
Without a doubt, Timber Pizza Co. pulled out all the stops! Passed apps like Peruvian chicken skewers and pork empanadas were served as the party got going. For dinner, Timber treated guests to pizzas baked onsite in their wood-burning pizza oven! There was even a seasonal option which was topped with roasted sweet potatoes, spicy pumpkin seeds, and pesto drizzle. For dessert, we called in the pros at Buttercream Bakeshop. In addition to a gorgeous marbled pink cake, Buttercream provided us with an assortment of sweet treats. Party-goers could choose from egg nog and French vanilla macarons, cakecicles, chocolate covered Oreos, brownie bites, and citrus bars! Treats were served on an assortment of our vintage cake stands and platters and arranged on our Shiloh Shelf. To showcase the cake, we displayed it on a brand-new Sycamore Slatted Wood Pedestal which we made in-house!
On Wednesdays, we wear pink! Because we’re extra, party invitations were sent out with a link to a Pinterest board with dress code inspiration. The vibe? Bold style! Think: colorful/rainbow/disco. (Bonus points for showing up in SVR brand colors!) We still can’t believe how our team embraced this vibe! Obviously, we had to snap a pic of Alyssa, Ashley & Molly coordinating with our Rosewood Petite Bar.
Our team showed up serving LEWKS! As guests arrived, we asked them to pop into our Kent Phone Booth so we could document all the outfits… And also try to nail down that Nuuly partnership we so desperately want. (#NuulyPlsSponsorUs) Seeing everyone interpret the disco dress code in their own unique way was so much fun. It’s hard to single out just one look. If we had to name a fave, lil V’s all iridescent ensemble might just take the cake. Without a doubt, she understood the assignment!
We wanted to surprise our team with something special, so we turned to the pros at Snap Entertainment. They hooked us up and transformed our warehouse space by setting up arcade games for the team. Given that our guys are kids at heart, they brought in air hockey, arcade hoops, and hit the green! This was such a fun way to show them just how much we appreciate them. The team at Snap also lent us a photo booth. Guests could strike a pose and get pics AND gifs sent right to their phones!
A party can’t truly share all the gratitude we feel. Nonetheless, raising a glass to our team and toasting them as we enter this next decade was a blast! Cheers to the next ten (& beyond)!
