With large events on hold for the time being, we can’t deny that we’re missing big weddings like crazy! Until we can all be together again safely, we’re taking a walk down memory lane and reliving gorgeous days like this classic Virginia wedding from last July. Looking back, we are still so in love with this couple’s dreamy summer wedding! By combining a mix of glam, modern, romantic, and rustic elements, Andrew and Michelle’s Shadow Creek wedding managed to feel both elegant and relaxed. The barn at Shadow Creek was the perfect backdrop for this couple’s wedding reception, and they chose to incorporate multiple chair and table styles for a result that was both beautiful and functional! To keep things fun, Andrew and Michelle spiced up cocktail hour with games on the lawn, brought in a cool mobile bar, and a gorgeous seating area complete with pieces like our Chesapeake Sofa and Faye Chair that were perfectly in keeping with their blue color palette. Overall, their big day turned out so beautifully and had a family-style atmosphere that was both laid-back and inviting. We hope you enjoy the pics below, and that they serve as great inspiration for how to decorate your very own summer wedding!
We love to see all the creative ways clients use our pieces, and our Francis Console Table is such a versatile piece that we see it utilized in so many different ways! In this instance, the couple chose to use the Francis to create a romantic welcome table with photos for guests to browse during cocktail hour. They also incorporated a super fun escort display complete with an acrylic sign, geometric lanterns, and wooden crates similar to our Mac Crates. The mix of modern and rustic elements here was so refreshing, and absolutely perfect for the vibe of this couple’s big day!
To dress up their cocktail hour, Andrew and Michelle opted for a stylish seating area perfectly in keeping with their blue color palette. They chose to pair our Chesapeake Sofa with our Faye Chair, Janice Coffee Table, and Amira Pillows. The blue hues were light and airy, perfect for this summer wedding, and the gold on the pillows helped to add a hint of glam. The patio at Shadow Creek was the perfect spot for guests to pop outside for some fresh air later in the night, and to lounge when they needed a break from dancing!
For the reception, Andrew and Michelle opted for a mix of table and chair styles! To create a super long head table, they combined a few of our Brentwood Farm Tables. The natural finish of the Brentwood Tables paired perfectly with our Roux Chairs and helped to create an elegant head table for the couple’s closest family and friends. To break up all of the wood, they also incorporated some round tables with linens and paired them with our Sonoma Crossback Chairs! We are always in favor of mixing and matching, and we’re loving the combo of tables and chairs here.
When we think of summer weddings, lawn games are a must-have so it’s no surprise that Andrew and Michelle chose to incorporate our Auburn Giant Jenga Set. The game was a fun way for guests to pass the time during cocktail hour, as well as after dinner. Displayed on a cocktail table covered in a pretty blue linen, this set-up was indicative of their entire day: simultaneously laid-back and elegant.
Congrats, Andrew and Michelle! Cheers to your big day and best wishes for a lifetime of happiness!!
